As mentioned in my previous post I didn’t have the best “musical” week… but we did see some sun and spring like weather here in Auckland which to me means its time to dust off the Greg Wilson mixes, scrub the BBQ, waterblast the decks and get ready for summer.
I don’t know how many mixes of Mr Wilson’s I have, dozens probably and man they get a workout over our warmer months here in GE – cause they are always solid and always smile inducing.

Greg Wilson came to town so Mick, the Ninja and I donned long pants and headed off into town for a night of excess…  It was fab.
He didn’t play voodoo ray much to my sadness
I drunked too muchbut stayed up way past my bedtime
It was wonderful to see someone play great music cause they love it

Super Smooth Summertime Soundtracks of Splender

Since everyone down this end of the world is about to kick off into their summer holidays, a couple more links to soundtrack the funtimes ahead.
Websta’s super-smooth podcast from last week takes the edge off nicely, add on to that some grandiose feel good space age disco from Todd Terje and the sublime summer stylings of Greg Wilson as well and you’re set.
Summer soundtracks sorted. Pass me another beer.

The BMP Weekender: Greg Wilson & Luciano – Sydney Harbour

So the NZ contingent of the BMP have just recently returned back from a most successful weekender in Sydney, as we’ve been rabbitting on about for awhile now. 

Greg Wilson & Luciano on a boat only a 3 hour flight away. We’re there.
Huge amounts of planning went into preparing for the trip, so much so that I realised I hadn’t actually applied for leave from work until 2 days beforehand. That said, I had managed to sort out the somewhat elusive boat tickets for the BMP well in advance, so the …

Driving to a land of convicts to listen to a man with a moustache

Decemeber 6th sees the 2nd officially sanctioned BMP roadtrip, this time crossing the tasman to see Luciano play on a boat in Sydney harbour.
Seeing as the first Dixon roadtrip with the now infamous kermit-mobile went so well, the early signs are all participants are holding grand hopes of a most excellent adventure.
The boat is due to leave 11am sharp with Greg Wilson playing a 4 hour opening set, followed by a 4 hour stint from Luciano. Great work by PulseFM for managing to tee up such a great lineup and a …
