A jazz mix!

Jazz is one of my favourite musical genres but I don’t post a lot about it on here. Jazz has such a long history and such a large amount of writing has been done on it, it feels a bit intimidating for me to talk about it. Happy New Year!

Last year ended on a sad musical note for me with the death of one of my favourite Jazz musicians, Freddie Hubbard.  Freddie should be beloved to all house fans for providing the sample on Pepe Bradock’s ‘Deep Burnt’ – surely one of the all time classic deep house records.  This sample comes from the song ‘Little Sunflower’ on Freddie’s 1979 album ‘love connection’ – whenever I find a second hand record store I always check out the …
