Serious Short Wearers Unite

Written by: 1 August 2015 No Comment

back when I still had teeth one of my fave labels was Wax Trax! out of Chicago… now house fans calm yourselves it wasn’t that kind of record label. I was nothing short of a mega fan, importing their records direct from from the label in the US. Somewhere in my boxes of filth (storage) I probably have quite the collection growing mould and covered in dust.

I took my electronic music seriously… and by seriously I mean at the time (late 80s through to early 90s) I like my music to be filled with hard beats and brutal vocals. At the same time I was also dabbling in Acid House, Nu beat and loads upon loads of indie/punk rock so I (hope I) wasn’t too grim. In my defence I also surfed a lot and drank beer like an alcoholic in training, I also wore a lot of shorts.

I’m not sure how my youtube voyage yesterday quite got me here, I started off looking at music thats been used in my current fave TV show, Deutschland 83, and ended up here.

Frontline Assembly were in my world a band on a par with Front 242… and while both were uncompromising in their musical delivery in it I found beauty and humour (yeah I smoked a lot of pot back then too).

So here we have the B side to the band’s second 12″ , a song I took great delight in playing on student radio… in all its 11 plus minutes glory.

Music – its a trip man!
