We were a little weary of going back to Matter again. This time though we didn’t have to go through the horrible airport terminal that is the O2 and just walked around the waters edge to Matter. The line wasn’t huge and within a few fairly painless minutes waiting, we were in.
Just in time for dOP. They were fun. We sat down and just drank a bottle of wine. I saw one of them after while Koze was on and congratulated him on their new ep cover -

Koze was up next, and after trying to catch some of Lawrence upstairs, i figured i’d sooner see Koze. He started of with big drummy tracks. He also played Berlin Dub, which got me pretty amped. The majority of what he played i had no clue as to what it was, but it was good! Pretty sure he played Mariposa and he definitely played his remix of Minimal.
It seemed to be a pretty knowledgeable crowd with screams and cheers coming at the closest glimpse of a recognisable track. It really felt like everyone was there to party!
After Koze we jumped between Move D, who played a blinding deep set, which included Minimal Man – Make A Move and Modeselektor who played a very similar set to what they played when they opened for Radiohead in Berlin, which included their for the girls remix of Bjork and Antony ‘Dull flame of desire‘.
Appleblim was up next. Putting all these different genres on works really well when the DJ’s understand the crowds. Given Appleblims excellent podcasts for Rinse, it’s obvious he loves all sorts of music and began his set in a farely House/Techno/Minimal fashion, before dropping in to the dupstep.

Come the end of Appleblim’s set i was sitting down. Once Shackleton’s bass literally rattled my ribcage, i was back on the dancefloor shuffling my feet for as long as could before catching the 7.30am tube home.

sounds awful!
JEALOUS
You see any of Melchior?
I still really want to see the elusive Koze at some point. Very jealous.
That lineup is just silly. SILLY!
Yes, we saw most of Thomas Melchior too!
I woulda been keen fer Trus’me as well
You’d think so, Websta, but his mixing makes you and I sound like Jeff Mills.
Top tunes, though.
Loving Motorcity Drum Ensemble also!
…and it’s all about kicking things off with a Vino(s).
