Mark Farina is a DJ and producer, known for Chicago house, acid jazz and downtempo. He’s well known about these traps, having played in Auckland many times over the years… This is a really bouncy solid mix of his (aren’t they all). It is also a nice change from the techno I’ve had playing all week – refresh yourself and if possible compliment with sunshine and beers!

“Gangstercast 69 brings Farina’s usual or unusual variety of underground chunky funky goodness to new listeners and old heads alike. For the mix he’s selected some goodies from his arsenal of new underground jammies with just a vibe in mind to fit this Gangstercast.

For Farina the House Gangster movement mean is about capturing the spirit of the days when there were true gangsters listening to house in chicago in the late eighties, a certain rawness, toughness, trackyness and attitude that combines into certain style of house. “White, latino, black…the only sound of the underground in the streets was house music””
