Fooling Around

Written by: 15 August 2015 3 Comments

I promised myself to follow Bob’s lead and try to post a track recommend so here we go with a pick from what will be another blazing day here in Tokyo.

I’m a big fan of the blackest ever black label – constantly interesting music selections that all somehow fit into the overall aesthetic.

The press release for the ‘Fooling Around’ EP by Rat Columns references Neu! and David Kilgour, and on listening to the long first track I’m reminded of Ghost Wave who are of course another band influenced by those things. The remaining tracks show a wider range of styles and influences.

The Fooling Around E.P. will be released on July 31, 2015, on 12” vinyl with picture sleeve, insert and download code (edition of 500), and digital formats, and is available to pre-order now.

Personally I like the sounds of this, it seems destined to be added to the constant list of releases I like enough to buy on vinyl so I don’t buy the mp3 first but then I wait to see if I can find the vinyl in my local shop but then never see it so eventually just forget about it.
