dug gems other and dug ‘n strange

Once again I’m back with a couple of recommendations for the BMP and the wider world on the net.

Track-wise a dip in humidity this week hasn’t caused a dip in my ongoing enjoyment of balearic vibes. If you like your Villages Quiet, your Feels International, and your Jose’s Padilla’d then you might enjoy this from Tom Furse of the Horrors, who at times I’m quite partial to as well. Dropping the darkness of his band he whips up a selection of sedate and sedated wooshers..

Comp wise, I’m going to lazily tip that you head on over to Aquarium Drunkard and pick up there a download link to “There will be mud: 24 swampy nuggets from the rockabilly hinterlands”. Vibes hit hard with 24 tracks of early rock and roll, upbeat country twangers and swaggering rockabilly.

For example of the general carry on here’s Milton Trenier with ‘Gonnna Catch Me a Rat’.

Basically if you liked Weatherall’s sci-fi lo fi mix, you need to check this selection out, ideally while swigging on rye whiskey as I am inclined to do.

That’s it for me this week, your turn again Bob!
