Dance music for rockheadz

Written by: 11 November 2015 No Comment

I’ve never been a fan of the Chemical Brothers, they’re one of those electronic acts that I consider do dance music for rock fans and while it would be wrong of me to say their music isn’t without merit¬†they don’t need my fandom and I sure as shit don’t need them in my life. File alongside Fatboy Slim, latter era Prodigy and well most chart topping “electronic” acts… yes I am a music snob!

I’d say I have a no Chem’s rule in my musical voyaging but only an idiot has hard and fast rules, (guilty as charged me lord), and even if I did have this rule it would at the very least be broken by this remix, cause you see there is a hard and fast rule of listening to every single thing one can that is touched by Carl Craig, ya don’t have to love all his musical outpourings cause he’s done some plain ol good stuff but generally speaking what he touches is freaking GOLD. As an example here is a very recent case in point that is fucking amazing.¬†Oddly or not perhaps his C2 moniker is often imo attached to his less great work, but thats just a theory I neither care to test nor argue.

This remix isn’t gold, nor godlike… its decent, solid and most charmingly relentless, albeit with a irritating vocal.

And to be honest I feel Skream has done a much better job, actually a fucking stunning job – given the vocal is still there I wonder if retaining it was one of the guidelines handed out for the remix?

For your reference I include the original – its fucking horrible!
