After getting Nick Cave turned off for Coldplay remixes et. el., this situation needs to be rectified with a sort of organised party themed playlist that won’t get pulled by some narrow minded arse wipe.

Generally the best thing to listen to or play in this situation is Dancehall, it is fun to dance to and has good bass.

When I started djing I bought the odd dancehall 7″ but with a limited record buying budget it was too expensive a diversion so I gave up and now I am not up to date with the dancehall world.

Consequently I just have the odd favourite here and there. The ‘Diwali’ riddim is probably still my favourite, which crossed over to the U.S (see below). Last year RA had an interview with untold where he said how it has influenced his production. You can definitely hear it. Mick may note the appearance of a (possibly typecast) JD Williams (Bodie) featuring in this video as ‘Lumidee’s love interest/dude who has to hide from the cops for some reason’).
