Dalek vs Cheese in a Can: Stink-Finger Podcast #05

This is a mix I did for the biggie.co.nz House Forum Mix-Off.
The guidelines for the creation of the mix were:
Mixes are limited to 45 minutes each like half a T90 tape. If you go over, listeners will encouraged to stop listening at the 45 minute mark to turn the tape over.
Mixes can be made in any way you see fit on any medium.
House is a feeling, so stray where you will genre-wise but beware that by venturing into particularly niche territory you may give the game away.

Guest Mix: McBean – Cosas Grandes

Cosas Grandes is lubricatedly brought to you by the insideout rolls at Samurai Sushi, pushing your dog in a pram up Oxford Street, bootygurn, the smell of petrol, eternally quivering okonomiyaki and takoyaki shaving garnish, 8am harvey wallbangers, haloumi cheese n’ fresh lime; and would not have been possible without the House and Techno music of jungles, bunkers, squats, favelas, Fubars, Womb, Lov.e, helicopter pads, Cobb Valleys, K Roads, Big Glass Boats and Hawkes Bay vineyards worldwide.
Tracklisting:
Beanfield feat. Bajka – Tides (Carl Craig mix)
Paul Ritch – Back to the Time

Pop’n'Tuck: Stink-Finger Podcast #04

A lot can change in 2 years!  At the start of 2007, I was living in an old house near a vaguely dodgy part of Auckland’s CBD.  The BMP was an as yet unacquainted and unincorporated group of disparate figures who had not yet discovered a mutual enjoyment for the triplicate vices of Beer, MUSIC, and Pizza.  My friend Mike, (aka Mick ‘the kid’) was living in Mt Albert near what I personally consider one of Auckland’s best cafes, so most weekends would see me grabbing a pile of records …

Lelo: Stink-Finger Podcast #03

Yeah yeah, it’s extremely delayed, but i figured what better way to formally introduce myself on this site than with a mix…let the music do the talking.
So with that (and for all those who can be bothered), I present to you: Dua Yabaki – a tribute to our beloved house music in all its awesome forms, influenced heavily by the sights and sounds I experienced in New York one year ago. But that’s another story.

Bob: Stink-Finger Podcast #02

In the eighties I used to do a radio show on a student station… the guy who did the show after me hosted the country music show, he was in my eyes old… and played all his music from cassettes – thus I mocked him.
I remember one day he told me that when I to got old I’d be listening to country music to, oh how I laughed.
Well two decades later here I am old… and listening to country music
With this in mind I present the first instalment of the …

Websta: Stink-Finger Podcast #01

May those that love us, love us.
And those that don’t love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if he doesn’t turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we’ll know them by their limping

Is mass murder the nu cool?

The new RA podcast by Laurent Garnier came out the other day and I for one raced home to get it as he has been something of a legend for the last 20yrs or so, being a resident at the Hacienda back in the late 80’s when I was all about Madchester. Also he has a new ep out on Innervisions – Back to my Roots that is quite outstanding.
So with his new mix and a bit a return to form as such I was sat listening to it …
