all my feelings exposed

Anniversaries can be funny things… this week is what I am calling my week of death… as three very important people in my life all died at various times during this week.
Today I am remembering me mum and what better song than Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart… a all time classic track, rather than serve up the original I’ve found the wonderful cover by New York act Swans who released this version on a 12” way back in 1988, they did two versions one with Jarboe singing (included …

Not sure the sound stands the test of time that well but by god …

I am a product

I’ll probably getmocked for this weeks choice, which is why I’ve been a tad slow to post this week.
Mocked for its a song I’ve not given a rest since a certain BMPer alerted me to the fact it existed – he should be along at same point to say something like “fucks sake bob”…
There are songs that move our body, some that move our soul and others that make us think… this does all three for me, albeit the body movement is quite restrained.
Anyways this is Jeffrey Lewis’s take on …

there is no place to sleep

This track represents all that is magic and awesome about electronic/dance music and Carl Craig.
To put it simply, it’s magic!

Free as the morning sun

Spring sprung here last week, officially, and on the 1st we were rewarded with a stunning sunny but cool day… I dragged out a cover version of the song of the week that I have a fondness for by Mr Hermano but today here is the original by Carlos Santana from his 1979 album Oneness: Silver Dreams – Golden Reality.
This is the perfect tonic for a early morning rise where the birds are all you hear…. play it before traffic and other distractions kick in

and here is Mr Hermano’s version:
