This lp, sent my way by Benny, has become one of my all time faves.
Never has music conjured such an extraordinary visual in my mind, its creates a vision of an abandoned Old Victorian/Art deco mall with the ghost of a pianist in it.
this is up there with Stereolab and Suicide for music i put on when i don’t know what to listen to.
Also works pretty great as a `sunday, dead day’ music selection

Another impossibly obscure gem, can’t find it on youtube, not even a picture on Google had to fire up the slsk (love the slsk!) to find a copy.
Titonton Duvante – Never letting Go (Dan Curtin mix)
I have the 12″ of this, never listened to the main mix, I just love the DC mix.
Jackin, bumpin, groovy, sped up vocals.
Shit Hawt!

Can’t really go passed this one.
Featuring all the touchstones of house
Pianos
repitition
House getting mentioned more than occaisionally
(remind me of Bob’s realization that its the only style of music that loves its own name and tells you what you are listening to at every opportunity)
also, a very succinct description of the genre.

Brett Dancer

Brett Dancer – On the Roads
I saw Mr Dancer at Home in London, he was fucking atrocious (Theo Parrish and Larry Heard played too) but he went on to produce so much music i love and release more on his awesome Trackmode label that i care not.
This is a play on the words, Roads/Rhodes hahahaha get it? brillant!
anyway its got dusty beats for days at the start and then it gets into a bumpy bassline and then he just rolls on with the Rhodes organ.  This is my driving song.
soo …

This is gonna take awhile, likely gonna miss a few and back track here and there.
I have the top 2 sorted, and the rest are all kinda fluid.
Just remember these are not `THE top 10 ever’ they are `MY top ten’. They are trax that have an emotional, historical or whatever reason to be there, some will be obscure others not so much, either way these are the ones i like bestest.

Groove Culture is Henry Maldonado on Henry St Music featuring the super smooth Arnold Jarvis on a disco loop …

This is the Beach boys song that gets me over the need to listen to alot of Beach Boys.  It features all the bits i like about them in a couple of mins, crazy bits, harmonious bits and its as catchy as Super-ebolaids!
it also features in Happy Feet, which is the only bit of that movie that is not awful

Seemingly a million years ago I made some edits, well lots of edits. Most are quite rubbish, real stupid choices or just leaving you asking `why?’
i figure i might as well share them now.
This one is prolly the best of a bad bunch, some nice disco looped up and left alone
