A locked groove really is a thing of beauty, something that is oft overlooked these days.
Forget the drop, give me something that will slowly build, that will get under your skin and wash you away.
Here’s one example that makes me all a tingle. Mostly because I heard it at Labyrinth last time round.

Mark E - The Day

I seem to have a bit of a soft spot for most things Mark E puts his name to, and find his work particularly well suited to lazy afternoons. Something I take extremely seriously. This new slow-burner off his new LP “Stonebreaker” on Spectral Sound definitely fits that bill.

Sometimes it is sadness that reminds you of greatness.

The recent passing of Gil Scott Heron reminded me just how powerful his music was, and will hopefully continue to be.

This live recording in particular sums up the spine tingling power his music and his message had.
