This is a pretty great un-official video for Dance Yrself Clean; note the appropriate use of Kermit.
On the subject of Dance Yrself Clean, here’s the track that LCD used for the inspiration; someone suggested LCD Soundsystem put out a compilation of the tracks that inspired them on their albums. I think it’s a great idea!

I came across these guys a few weeks ago with a mix on BiS – http://www.beatsinspace.net/playlists/559
Beautiful Swimmers ‘Big Coast’ on Future Times is below. Take part Studio-esk washing sounds and part Mark E disco, rinse, repeat. I like it!
Some other highlights from Future Times:
RA ran a label feature earlier in the month on the DC based Future Times, including a pretty excellent mix – http://www.residentadvisor.net/feature.aspx?1279

If you’re like me you haven’t listened to the Shackleton Fabric mix enough, and despite being the third of the Fabric mixes in as many years to be solely his own music, it fucken rules. Saying that, Ricardo Villalobos’s and Omar S’s are both high points in the series for me as well.
His new realese Fireworks on Honest Jons doesn’t disapoint. The two remixes by T++ of the title track and Mordant Music of Undeadman round off the release nicely.

My highlights from the two festivals below.
I didn’t get to go to a festival in the refurbished Aotea Square – Auckland Laneway, while having some kiwi bands who would have been good to see, didn’t have Bear in Heaven or Les Savy Fav and i was hanging out to see them both so I crossed the ditch to stay and go to the festival with my brother.
It was super cool. Split over 4 stages at an Arts University Campus in Central-West Sydney. The bands who stood out were the two …

I’ve been meaning to post up some favourite releases of last year for a while now.
Favourite album:
Mount Kimbie – Crooks and Lovers
BMP favourite and the best post dubstep related release for me last year, although the Four Tet album ‘There is Love in You’ was also a firm favourite. These two kids from London have nailed this album. I really like the way the LP slowly builds up to songs like ‘Before i Move’ and ‘Blind Night Errand’ and dissolves away again into shorter more fragmented pieces.
Favourite compilation:
Mark E – …

A lot can be said for MP3′s.
They’re free! Easy and instant to obtain.
But there’s one thing that has to be said for vinyl. That is, it’s the most sociable way to play and listen to music with a bunch of mates.
On Sunday 12 September, Bob, Scott and myself sat around skyped Benny, drank beer and played records! Possibly unbeknown to the other two i was recording the set and here’s the result. It’s actually only Bob playing (the MD only recorded the first 80 minutes) but I hope Bob’s going …

Being seen as someone “into” music, people seem to think this means your taste will reflect theirs which hasn’t developed further than what they listened to in High School.
After getting Nick Cave turned off for Coldplay remixes et. el., this situation needs to be rectified with a sort of organised party themed playlist that won’t get pulled by some narrow minded arse wipe.
As a collective here’s a rolling BMP recommendation fun times music list, which we can hopefully agree will go down well and get everyone headnodding to.
Let’s get this …

Worryingly, i’ve realised that most of my favourite music from last year was made either by Scandanavians, bands on The Tough Alliances Sincerly Yours label or bands that are named after two lower case letters.
Memory Tapes – Seek Magic
I’ve read a bit about this solo dude from Southern New Jersey. I find his music’s almost like The Cure, New Order and Studio all rolled in to one but actually way more awesome than that sounds. He’s apparently a stay at home Dad who has no drivers license (must be a …

Instead of replying to Nick’s thread with my picks, here’s my top picks accompanied with youtube videos; Since i’ve been away for 20 months, i’ve had to limit record purchases to essential releases. Below are most of those. I’m not sure when i will be converted to MP3 but it hasn’t happened yet..
San Proper – Keep It Raw (Perlon)
Another great year for Perlon, a label worth supporting with record purchasing.. This release has two very solid sounding tracks and I’ve also really enjoyed Margaret Dygas – Invisible Circles release. Unluckily …
