A weekend of music
This weekend sees a few musical happenings in Auckland, which is welcome as its been pretty musically dry here lately.
Friday night Beatstreet is back – with local Poker Flat/Moon Harbour/Curl Curl boy Simon Flower playing live, alongside birthday boy Matt Drake & Brooke Casey.
On Saturday night I finally get to get my dub techno on with Rhythm & Sound and Tikiman at Totos. Unfortunately Moritz won’t be here due to ill health, but as long as I hear mango drive I’ll walk away more than happy.
Derrick Carter is also in town on saturday night, playing at a “secret location”, which is aisha. Not that thats much of a secret really. Details here

my pick Daktari playing at a 40th… all the hits – Life begins At 40, Happy Birthday and To Sir With love
can’t believe I left that off the list
not exactly a music high for the weekend – you going to pop along for some warmups before the bassbin shaking?
Carter was a no show, my DJing sucked (apparently it was too hard)
so should have done the right thing and gone to R&S
damn fool!
bob playing “too hard”…….what the hell is the world coming to?
Yeah – uberuber uber diasappointing that Mr Carter was so hammered he missed his first flight and then the airline said he wasn’t in any fit state to get on the next one!!! Turns out my god has clay feet afterall…..totally unprofessional behaviour.
Would’a been better at your 40th gig, Bob.
Sure it wouldn’t have been too hard for us!
Love to the BMP!
