A week of it

The kiwi Prime Minister resigns… an infant on my bus sings twinkle twinkle little star in mandarin repeatedly for over half and hour (it was awesome)… the work fridge is stuffed with leftover beef and chicken sliders… and here I am stuck for a song I really rate(d) for the week… also a day earlier than my usual post time but I’m bored of being chairman of the board¬†and things are so deathly quiet in my work day I’m trying to kill some time rather than kill myself¬†.

I woke up this morning and really just felt like sitting outside at home with the cats having a few beers listening to some old RPR mixes a little too loud getting sunburnt – actually thats my default waking thoughts, sometimes whiskey in favour of beer and sometimes its that old Henrik Schwarz Harry Klein mix – you know solid mixes with a little techno, a bit of bumpy and some solid beats… not quite sunny but also not deep and dark.

So what the fuck is the song I hear no one in particular scream… well thanks to the part time cook at homes penchant for watching Nurse Jackie on the pod while cooking I heard this play the other night while some nursing stuff happened and remember just how much I loved this song as a youngster – a very young bob as music fan moment in fact… I was a massive fan of the video, which played on ready to roll a number of times back then… its all about the drums!

Not surprised but bloody angered by the cover versions of this I found….

I mean what the actual fuck…

Of course there’s always the knowledge learnt that the Bow Wow Wow version is itself a cover… of this pretty cool 60’s number

What a time to be alive!
