When Shostakovich played the first two movements of his Seventh Symphony to his friends in the besieged city of Leningrad in the summer of 1941, his performance was interrupted by a German bombardment. As the air-raid sirens began to blare after he had finished playing the gigantic first movement – music that dramatises, parodies and immortalises the German invasion – he assured his audience that he would return to play the second just as soon as the warning had stopped and he had taken his wife and children to the shelter. Yesterday I spent half an hour lending assistance to emergency services as they tried to revive a man who had collapsed in the neighbours bush while retrieving firewood… I held the saline drip solution bag that was attached to his arm and observed the paramedics and firefighters try and save him. He died on our drive.
His body lay there for the next few hours (covered) as someone came to pronounce him dead and then someone else to recover the body.
It’s been a week.
A nice plodder for this week – suits mood, weather and all things desk jockeys require – thats me boss!

Perhaps its the new year, perhaps its my age and general fuck it I can’t be arsed attitude or perhaps it is the gremlins in the soundcloud bunkers but fucked if I can find the mixes on that platform as I did last year – I’m blaming the code cause why blame yourself when there are virtual objects in play… so my discovery of mixes so far this year has been less than satisfactory – especially given my new year back to work blues. All of this isn’t helped by the …
The humid have caused me a couple of crappy night sleep this week and I’m grumpy as sin as a consequence… so to perk myself up I sought out a new dance craze, cause everyone knows BOBBY LOVES TO DANCE
