Us resident stink fingerites have seriously sound music taste, we are taste makers… what we like is always worth checking out if not grabbing somewhere somehow – modest much… fuck that shit we are musical gods… worship us!
Yet even we the pillars of good taste and fashionable trouser suits sometimes get it wrong – or did we…
Every now and then one stumbles upon a album or artist whose work is so shockingly bad on every musicial level that it is actually rather good, sometimes brilliant.
So with this thought firmly planted …

Let me just start by saying, praise jebus for music. In the bleakness that has been the last few weeks down this end of the world, holding onto sanity has been difficult of late, so I’ve been thankful for a few things that have been warming my spirit.
I’m not using the term “music” loosely here, I’m talking about that stuff that can instantly change your mood, make you remember, put you in another place…..or simply “fix” you. Last week I saw “Respect Yourself – The Stax Records Story” at the …

This video clip of Kerri Chandler using a lazer controller while playing Bar A Thym has always been a favourite of mine – very minority report and probably one of those love it or hate it things. Either way, you have to admit its better than a cube that changes colour.

For me, the long weekend started last Tuesday when i saw Radiohead in Amsterdam. After arriving slightly late to find them already playing ‘Lucky’, I was hoping to see them play a more obscure set of songs from Hail to the Thief, Kid A, Amnesiac on top of what was obviously being toured. Don’t get me wrong, there were great moments like Reckoner and then they were ruined by middle aged women clapping along to the beat of Just. G’ah!
The next morning my friend Nick and me rise in our …

So Saturday rolled around and it was my first chance to go out clubbing in Tokyo.
As I mentioned before Johnny D and Guido Schneider were to play, and I was pretty excited about the night. Daniel and I warmed up with some (actually pretty decent) burgers and wandered into the flashing lights and general chaos of Shibuya. Like many parts of Tokyo I was surprised how that by wandering just a few blocks back from the main areas that are teeming with people you can find very quiet …
